Kent State

Yesterday, I found myself in a Composition studio class at Kent State University with a wonderful and eclectic group of students. How exciting! Music to my ears and food for the soul.

March Winds

Despite these chilly and forceful winds, the visitors to Burrington's Coombe have been thrilling to watch. We've had a nuthatch, tufted titmouse, mourning doves, the entertaining and frisky dark-eyed juncos, a family of downy woodpeckers and an occasional ladderback woodpecker. Wow.

February Visitors

What an exciting day! A pair of white-tipped doves, a Northern Shrike and an unusual red-bellied woodpecker all visited today. I bought new bird food with fruit and nuts, perhaps that's the draw.

Downy Woodpecker

Isn't she lovely? What beautiful feathers.
We have both Downy and Ladder-backed Woodpeckers visit us.
Quite a treat.
